Energy Law
Electricity, Oil and Gas Market Law
We advise national and international clients from the electricity, oil and gas industry on all questions under private and public energy law. This includes drafting of opinions, assisting with contract negotiations as well as support in connection with the implementation of strategic measures. Furthermore, we represent energy companies vis-à-vis the Competition Commission, the Electricity Commission, the Price Regulator and other administrative law authorities as well as in civil court in all regulatory cartel law, administrative law and civil law proceedings.
Trading and Emissions Trading
We advise national and international clients from the energy industry in connection with trading in primary energy sources, electricity and certificates as well as in connection with emissions trading. Our experience in this regard includes classic OTC transactions as well as exchange trading. Further, our energy law practice also covers legally related issues such as market-coupling for purposes of the efficient use of cross-border grid capacities, compliance with REMIT, EMIR and MiFID II as well as questions relating to opting-in and opting-out of companies within the Swiss emissions trading system.
Renewable Energies
We advise and represent companies as well as private and governmental institutions on legal aspects relating to the generation and marketing of electricity from renewable energy sources. This includes, in particular, questions relating to electricity feed-in tariffs and the grid connection as well as questions relating to the distribution of the electricity produced, including the purchase and sale of corresponding certificates. Our energy law practice also covers related topics such as the CO2 legislation, permits and concessions, ancillary services and environmental issues.
